Driving school for Wheaton students
Sam's Driving School is in Rockville, at 751 Rockville Pike, and teaches students from Wheaton and all of Montgomery County. MVA-approved 36-hour driver's ed, behind-the-wheel lessons and a car for your road test, with male and female instructors who speak English, Spanish and Farsi (Persian).
How it works for students from Wheaton
Class on Zoom, from home
The 30 hours of class for the MVA 36-hour course are on Zoom, so you join from Wheaton without driving anywhere.
6 hours behind the wheel
Two-hour driving lessons with a certified instructor in a dual-control car, plus extra practice from 2 to 60 hours if you want more.
Getting to us
Take the Metro Red Line from Wheaton station to Rockville station — no transfer — and use our free pickup at Rockville Metro. Directions from Wheaton
Road test
Take your MVA road test in our insured school car, and practise the test route with us first.

Questions from Wheaton families
Do we have to come to Rockville for the 36-hour class?
No. The 30 hours of class are on Zoom. Only the 6 hours behind the wheel are in the car.
Who can register?
In Maryland, students usually start at 16 with a parent's signature. From 18 you can register on your own. Registration takes about 3 minutes online.
Which languages do your instructors speak?
English, Spanish and Farsi (Persian). We have male and female instructors.
